Tech Policy
GA and SA committees will operate on a hybrid model, with the use of paper notes during moderated caucuses, and devices used to write working papers. All papers are to be written through google docs, with ownership transferred to the dais through the official committee email. No technology may be used during moderated caucuses: any notes delegates wish to use must be printed out beforehand.
Crisis committees will draft solutions and communicate exclusively with digital technology. Slack will be used as the main method of communication with crisis staff, as well as other delegates and members of the dais. Links to join the committee slack channel will be sent in advance of the committee; we ask that delegates join promptly, and rename themselves to their character’s name, followed by their first and last name, and pronouns in brackets. Google docs will be used in the manner previously described to draft public directives. Given that devices may be used during moderated caucuses, we ask all delegates to remain respectful and attentive to speeches given by other delegates, and minimize distractions where possible.
If any delegate requires a laptop for use in committee, they may fill out this form (form not available yet). Please ensure your request is submitted well in advance of the conference to ensure that we can have all devices prepared.
Equity Policy
Our team at WCHSMUN is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for all delegates. In accordance with this, delegates must remain respectful of others both inside and outside of committee. Insensitive remarks regarding race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, physical appearance, and disability will not be tolerated. Violations of our equity policy will be evaluated by committee staff with oversight from USG of Delegate Affairs if necessary, and may result in disqualification from awards.
Foreign policy is never an excuse for equity violations. We encourage delegates to view a controversial position as an opportunity to showcase their diplomatic finesse and navigate this position with respect and ingenuity in their solutions.
For any equity concerns during the conference please fill out this form.
Appropriate Conduct
Whether in committee or on break, delegates act as representatives of our conference from the opening speeches to the closing gavel. Please be aware of the importance of professional and respectful conduct while on the WCHS premises, and in the surrounding community. Should our staff become aware of inappropriate behaviour, disciplinary action such as disqualification from awards may result.
Prewriting of speeches or solutions, as well as the use of AI writing assistants, is not acceptable under any circumstances. Delegates engaging in such conduct will be immediately disqualified from awards, and further action may be necessary. Please maintain a spirit of fair competition, and work towards bettering yourself as a delegate by abiding by all rules and policies.
